How to do real estate investment in Austin
One of the fastest growing cities in America, Austin, Texas, has a rich history, beautiful landscapes, and one of the most active real estate markets in the country. Austin is home to nearly three quarters of a million people and is nestled inside a booming metropolis of over one and a half million citizens, and continues to thrive as outsiders see the potential in the Austin real estate market.
Native Americans, like the Apache and Comanche, were the earliest people to reside in what is now known as Austin. In the 1830s, white Americans settled here and named the city, Waterloo. The area became popular and in the mid-1800s, the congress of Texas appointed the Austin real estate as the Capitol. In the declaration, the congress changed the name from Waterloo to Austin in honor of Stephen Austin, also known as the ‘Father of Texas’.
Historically, Stephen Austin was actually the first Austin real estate agent. Austin’s commission was to bring people from other areas to colonize the region. He advertised this opportunity, stating that the land was available along the Brazos and Colorado rivers. The original cost of Austin real estate at the time, was sold for about 12 cents an acre.
Aside from the fantastic scenery of the Colorado River, Austin offers fantastic views of the countryside. The street view from just outside downtown Austin allows one to virtually see for miles with the flat lay of the land and majestic building complexes reaching skyward. Flaunting its gorgeous riverfront locations and exciting lights of the nightlife in downtown to the magnificent historical sites, the Austin real estate landscape and vistas are a non-stop eye pleasing experience.
The Austin real estate market has again opened up wide, this time for ‘settlers’ of the 21st century. Just like nearly 200 years ago, the area is enjoying an upbeat and brisk real estate market. Even though most of the country has experienced a slow decline in property transactions, the Austin real estate market is seeing another increase in interest and buying, even from foreign investors.
The Austin real estate market has seen phenomenal growth, from the 1800s and into the 21st century. The average population has expanded more than 30% every decade since the 1950′s, even though the cost of living has maintained the same average as the rest of the United States. The growth factor without the inflationary factor makes the economy of the Austin real estate market a wise investment.
